First of all, have you sent me a picture of yourself or a doll you want to represent your work yet? I need this so I can create your Artist's Studio page? Also your Artist's Studio page doesn't only have to be only completed dolls, it can also reflect work in progress images as well. Anything that you want a potential customer to view to help them better understand the process you go through for creating your character or as another outlet to find a potential customer. Now, to begin adding to your Artist's Studio page, you use the Artist Submission form which is at this link https://www.international-art-doll-registry.com/artists-studio-submissions.html This is not to be confused with the Registry form used to when you register your doll with the IADR! The Artist Submission form is only for the Artist's Studio submission photos where you can describe how your doll is made, what inspired you to make it or what materials you used, if you are selling it, or if the person looking at your page on the IADR website would like to contact you or visit your shop. This is only limited by how much or how little information you want to share about your creation.
Why might you want a Follow Me image? Because if you list all of your links with each of your dolls, a person might get lost going down the rabbit hole of looking at them and a sale might get lost as well. That is one reason why it was previously one link per doll and also because I didn't realize (at the time) I could do multiple links.
To create this option to your Artist's Studio page - use the Artist's Submission form. You can use any image you want for this and send all your links you want listed. I created my image in Canva. If anyone wants help creating an image for their Artist's Studio page, please let me know at [email protected]. When we get 1000 views to our website some weeks, wouldn't you want some of those views to be because they were checking out your Artist's Studio page?

Did you also know that we have created our first IADR Podcast? It was fun working with Bambi Lynn and we hope to be doing some more as well. If there is a topic you would like discussed, let us know as this is more than sharing tips and hints. It is how we can grow as dollmakers as well as our small business/art! You can find it on Youtube under podcast or click the link here: https://www.youtube.com/@iadr-internationalartdolls/podcasts Also as we create new podcasts, there are more opportunities for your artwork to be shared - like here in the cover image for the Podcast. More than likely I will be pulling these images from the Facebook collage that is featured in our IADR Art Doll magazine. So keep posting your work-in-progress or finished pieces in our Facebook group - IADR Members Only so that you have the opportunity to be seen not only in our magazine but also like here in the podcast cover. Did you know that my recent Conversation with Dollmaker Sandee Elvsaas is now also on Youtube? Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/@iadr-internationalartdolls/featured or in our archived blogs using the category of Conversations for all past interviews. Did you know that the IADR is a great opportunity to be part of a wonderful doll community? We have opportunities where we can hang out and play through our Shylock Doll Gathering (next meeting coming up in September). Learn with the great resources of past and new tutorials that are available to members and also join us in our first sales event this year. This is where we as a community help each other be seen and promote our own small business and artwork. Finally, did you know it is easy to join? Simply send me a message through our email at [email protected] or visit our website to contact me there as well. So if you wonder is the $49.00 year membership fee worth it - realize we are one of the few organizations that actually offer cash awards for our shows' winners at no cost to IADR members included with all of our other membership benefits.
For those are the various flavors she brings to her dollmaking. From the Children around the World, to her fairies of her childhood, to the shell people she is currently exploring, there is never a dull moment at Sandee's part of the world. Why not join me as I discover this delightful lady and what inspires her to create?
The first thing after the Fairy Wedding and the Guest Who Attend jury show entry submission date has passed, is entering your dolls to be considered for the People's Choice Awards show. The theme is a Christmas theme but doesn't limit your entry to just Christmas. After all, anything that makes one happy and excited just like when we open that special Christmas gift is the real limit to this show. Only current members of IADR will be eligible for entry into this show. The reason why is because the winners of this show will be the focal points in our advertisements for our Sales Event (which will be also be featured in our Art Doll magazine). There will be a special on-line submission form used for this Event too. More about that as we get closer to the dates. Even as we wish well for the Fairy Wedding jury show, it isn't too early to be dragging out the tinsel and lights to get into the mood for our special People's Choice Event too. If you have any questions about it, drop me an email at [email protected] and I'll be happy to answer them for you.
