Let's jump in...

Let's jump in and get The Artist's Studio pages set up so they can start working for you!

There are two(2) ways I can currently add your doll artwork to your page.  They are:

1. When you register your doll there is a spot toward the bottom of the registry form that you fill in that tells us that we can add your doll to your page in The Artist's Studio gallery. Keep in mind that dolls registered can only be viewed on the public side of the Artist's Studio page by giving me permission to add them.  Otherwise, the registered doll is on the membership side only and can only be seen by members on the Doll Registry page. This option is if you choose your doll to be part of your gallery and not for sale.(Any doll status can always be changed too!)
2. The second way is for you to use the Studio Submissions page in the members only section.  This is how you can create your own store or album by adding as many dolls as you want in your personal Artist's Studio page. This is a free service to you as an active member of IADR.
Simply fill out the form (see the example of the form below). The information about the doll will all be placed with the picture of the doll in your Artist's Studio gallery.  By clicking on the image of the doll it will either show as a gallery piece, or take you to the link you have included on the form such as your website if you are wanting to sell it, or it will open up your email link for a potential customer to be able to contact you.

Yes, you can link your art doll to any site - this can be your website, an Etsy shop or Ebay.  We might have to work a few to see if your Facebook store link will work (as we have not been able to test that yet), but if it does, we will link to there too!
Why post your doll here???  Because with the social media of Facebook & Twitter you shouldn't have all your eggs in one basket in case something should happen.  Have you ever been locked out of Facebook?  I know I have and there isn't a thing you can do about it.  Having another website location with your dolls builds a stronger foundation and as an active member you will always have the option to list your dolls on the IADR website.

Why are we offering to do this?  Because I think as a group we should help support each other to be seen.  If you don't have a website, then this is for you!  Even if you have a Facebook store this is an option for you as one doesn't really know what direction they will be heading in the future, and if you have a website (or any other type of store), then this is also for you. The more we can post in social media the more we can be seen!  So if saying "I can also be seen at IADR..." gives you just one more way of getting out there with a fresh post for networking.
As I said above, you can list as many dolls you want... after all, this is your shop.  Again, there is no charge for this service.  This is one of the perks of IADR membership and up to you whether you want to use it or not.
Also, a third option that will be coming out soon for your page in The Artist's Studio - the ability to list your doll for sale with the IADR!  Details are being finalized, but there will be only a 10% fee to cover the handling and credit card charges for the transactions (this will include collecting the sales taxes - if applicable). You, as the seller, will be responsible for doing the actual shipping of the doll when sold - but the IADR will collect the shipping fees and include them in your payment (and shipping fees will not be subject to the 10% fee).

This option is under construction but I hope to have it up and running soon.  At this time, this third option will only be available to members located and selling in the United States as we are not established with taxes and other requirements needed for selling in other countries.  But who knows, maybe in the future as we keep growing!

Artist's Studio... What is it???

What is the Artist's Studio?  It is your own personal gallery and shop.  Why?  Because as a gallery, you have an option to show a bigger picture and tell more about your piece in the Studio than what was previously allowed in the Registry.

Also I feel that the copyright information (which is part of the reason you use the IADR) should be more private than being open to the public.  That is why the Registry is only available for viewing and using as a member, while the Artist's Studio is for the public to see your work.
How does the Artist's Studio work?  Let me tell you. *smiling*.
On the page of the Artist's Studio is a picture to represent each member of the IADR.  I  used the doll picture you submitted for the website to create this feature for you, but the image does not need to stay this image.  You simply let me know what you want to replace it with, send me the image and I'll change the image.  It can be an image of you, the artist, your favorite doll or even a logo of your business.  Whatever you want it to be to represent your work.
Once you have the image established that you want to use for your Artist's Studio page (by sending it to me and I have it setup the way you want), then click the image and now you enter your gallery/shop.  This is where all your artwork will be placed for viewing and possible sales.  I will explain more about that in the next blog.  Step one here though is to let me know what you would like for your image on your Studio Page.  You can email me a picture at IADRegistry@outlook.com or send me an image through messenger.
