It's that time of year when we start making and checking our lists, whether it's a Christmas list or a to-do list.  Here is your IADR Check list...
Have you checked out the requirements for the Year End Juried Show?  Remember, you must have participated in at least one juried show this year or participated in the People's Choice event.  Also the Year End event is for IADR members only.
Have you downloaded the Special 2026 Convention Issue of the IADR Art Doll Magazine?  This issue is free so please let others know about it.

Now is when I will be starting the January 2026 issue.  Deadline for submitting articles or tutorials will be December 15th, 2025, because of the holidays.  Don't forget this is a great way to introduce new dolls or share works in progress through the Do What You Love pages or the Facebook Collage.
Also put on your check list that January will be starting our Winter Blues event.   I'll be looking for sponsors for the Instagram game which we play leading up to the start of the Winter Blues juried show.
Also, just wire transferred the funds to pay for the MIDA Fair IADR booth.  Check out the Special Edition Art Doll Magazine about this special event the IADR is also being a part of this year.  The MIDA Fair is an unique opportunity to be exhibiting/selling your dolls.  IADR paid now to take advantage of the lower cost for the booth space they offer.
Are you also taking advantage of the lower costs for signing up early for the 2026 IADR Art Doll Convention in Italy?
The registration for attending and wanting an exhibit/sales table or signing up for offering a workshop is now on the website.  The lowest fee for attending is NOW until January 15th.  After that the price goes up as we get closer to the May 8th starting date of the IADR Convention.
If you have any questions about any of these events, email me at iadregistry@outlook.com.

Do you wonder where your International Art Doll Registry (IADR) member dues go?  Let me walk you through what your paid membership unlocks.
First and foremost, the dues go towards paying the cash awards from the juried shows.  Evaluating (when I began operating the shows), how they were at that time only on-line. It was extremely costly to have a physical award and ship it with the postage costs.  Especially if shipping the award over seas, trying to guarantee it's safe arrival, and passing customs without additional costs to the winner.  And now with shipping costs going up even more, paying a cash reward is still a more practical choice.
Following that up with our IADR Art Doll Convention -- a part of the membership dues does help pay for the physical awards presented there as well.
This way we have the fun of having a physical award if one plans to attend the conventions, but it makes it just as fun to receive cash from our on-line event to be able to spend it back on our dolls - right? *smiling*.
Next, part of the membership dues goes for licenses and software for maintaining and operating the website.  Which hopefully this site makes it much easier to see an artist's work and easier to navigate.  One perk of this software that it is user friendly, enough that even I can manage it.  It is one reason why we can make additions to it with your Artist's Studio page and Registration information.  Overall, I feel this is a good investment.  Though I am still trying to get the submit button to work better but that technology is a work in progress.  If you like to see any changes in the website please don't hesitate to let me know - we are always working to improve it!
Your membership fee also goes for computer apps like Youtube, Canva, Zoom, and the Internet which covers us on Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky. These apps allow us to create the magazine.  It is because your membership fee going towards these costs that the magazine stays free to IADR members.
No one receives a wage for what we do at IADR.  It is one reason why we appreciate Adelaide Santini's offer that helps us with the magazine's Italian translation.  Also, when members offer to help by submitting articles, tutorials, interviews, and even showcasing their dolls, that makes the IADR community stronger.

What is down the road?  The Art Doll Convention helps growth, physical awareness, and the opportunity to build a stronger doll artist community.  The on-line shows offer free advertising for our creations as well as helpful learning input.  The IADR Magazine and Artist's Studio pages offer free advertising to you, our IADR members.  My goal is to reach out even more on Youtube and Bluesky.  Bluesky is helping us reach more of the AI free connections.  Youtube is a more stable market for growth and reach - especially if we can work out a way to show more of your work in short videos besides just the juried shows.  That's a future goal!  If you have any questions about any of the things I have mentioned here, please email me at iadregistry@outlook.com.

Starting today have you been thinking of what you are going to be doing for the 2025 IADR Year End Event?
The IADR Final Juried Show for the year is a little different than the other shows thoughout the year.  This year will be the first time that the categories will  be offered in both Sculptured Art and Fiber Art.  What does this mean?
It means that in Sculptured Art there will be three (3) areas to compete.  First, there is the Best Doll of the Year.  Then there is the Best Artist of the Year.  Finally, the Rising Star of the Year which is to encourage new artist and reflect how they have grown throughout the year in their art.
Those competition areas will also be offered in Fiber Arts. Meaning there will also be three (3) areas to compete - the Best Doll of the Year. the Best Artist of the Year and finally the Rising Star of the Year.
The requirements to be able to participate is that the Artists must be an IADR member who has participated in at least one of the 2025 IADR juried show events.  Each artist will submit three (3) dolls with at least one (1) of the dolls being submitted having been in one of the prior IADR juried events of this year (this can include People's Choice Event).  There will be an award opportunity for each category in each area for a total of 6 winners when meeting the competition requirement.

The reason why I know there will be six winners is that all participants can enter for Best Doll of the Year and Best Artist of the Year.  BUT, if the Artist wins the Best Doll of the Year, they will not be considered for the Best Artist of the Year as no member can win more than one area of competition in their category.  Also, if one has won a Rising Star of the Year award in past years, they cannot enter again as this area of the competition is to encourage new upcoming artists.

To see the full entry requirements and to register to compete in the Year End Event - click here!
Deadline to enter is December 31st, 2025 with the results announced in the January 2026 issue of the IADR Art Doll Magazine.  If you have any questions, please email me at iadregistry@outlook.com.

We are more than just another doll group, we are a doll community that pulls together to help each other be seen.  With this past weekend of the October Fall Art Doll Exhibit and Sale we reached an 80% increase of new visits to our Doll Sale page with most of the traffic heading off to visit the individual Artist's Studio pages.  This was a 12% increase in reach from last year.
That is amazing and shows the impact we can make when working together.  How that translates is that we had 600 new visits to the website with a BIG 206 unique views!  The IADR can't guarantee sales but we can guarantee we do our upmost to help get the word out and promote our amazing doll artists.
But as I so often say, I can't do it without you.  Thank you for being an active part of the Sales event and sharing the link yourself.
The link was also shared on Instagram and on YouTube with an average of a 100 views.  Our usual reach is about 30.  I used the app vidIQ to help promote our videos there, but again it couldn't have happened if the support for participating in the event hadn't happen.  Even there we had more participants this year as well.  WAY TO GO!!!
The November Special Edition of the IADR Art Doll Magazine comes out mid-November.  Remember the Do What You Love pages and the Facebook Collage are free advertising spaces for IADR members --whether it is a work in progress or a finished piece that you want to debut.
Deadline for submitting anything for the magazine is November 1st.  If you have any questions, email me at iadregistry@outlook.com.

Our IADR Fall Online Sale will begin this week. I will send out the link of the event/page Wednesday, October 22rd by 10 pm MST so that everyone will be able to start sharing on October 23rd when the  event will officially be LIVE.  The more everyone shares the link, the more the event is seen.
Even if you don't share the link, remember commenting or liking a post still helps the algorithm of having the event seen.  So, share a little love if you please *smiling*.
Myself, I'll be sharing it on Facebook and with several doll groups on Facebook.  I will also post it on Instagram, Bluesky, and Youtube.
Please also remember that because these posts are public, to double check any offers you may receive for your dolls.  Trust your gut.  If it doesn't feel right, don't fall for any scams.  Any inquiries that I receive regarding any artist's work, I will be forwarding to the artist.

What is VidIQ?  It is a new application that helps us rank our videos for better reach especially for us that work with the Youtube social media platform.

I couldn't wait to try it out after Bambi told me some of the advantages to it.  Hopefully this will help our IADR Youtube channel as well as my own.  Did you know the IADR had a Youtube channel?
Yes, you can see past shows or events there and once a month Bambi and I do a podcast.  Check out this podcast about What is VidIQ?  Click the link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIvh2pqD2Qw&list=PLrtdDHQkjjJuWLM17FetvOfXnI1lyP0yN

The IADR Art Doll Online Fall Exhibit & Sale is October 23rd to October 25th.  Those members that entered the People's Choice Event are already entered for this online event.  If you were not in the People's Choice competition but would like your work to be included to our Fall Sale -- Drop me a note at iadregistry@outlook.com.
This will be a special page and link for those that wish to participate and will be shared on the IADR various social medias.  This event is a little earlier than last year as we are hoping this will help in making it easier for anyone wishing to order for Christmas, especially because of shipping timeframes.
The IADR Workshop Provider form for the 2026 Convention is now up on the website.  If you are thinking about offering a workshop but not sure yet of what you want to focus on, please still fill out the form. We are trying to gather information as to who wants to provide a workshop and also get this information ready for our Special Convention Edition magazine.  Remember, there will only be one day of Convention Workshops on Friday, May 8th, and those that sign up early will have the most flexibility to choose their time slots.
The People's Choice - Fall issue of the IADR Art Doll Magazine is now available.  This is a digital download that is in a PDF format for anyone that wishes to print their own copy.  The IADR offers the magazine to IADR members as a FREE digital copy so as to not charge for printing and shipping. Non-members who wish a digital copy pay a small fee to help cover the creation and advertising costs of each edition.
Also available to IADR members in our magazine is the free option to showcase any of your artwork with the 'Do What You Love' page.  Or, if you would like to submit an article or tutorial please contact me at iadregistry@outlook.com.  We would love to see your work!

Congratulations to the winners of the People's Choice event and a big thank you to everyone that participated. This event brings a lot of activity to our website.  It is a fabulous marketing opportunity for as I often say, you can't sell if you aren't seen.
We had over 600 votes casted for this event with a 262% of increase in page views to our website and 1206 unique views. That is a wonderful job.
A Big Congratulations to Nade Jankovska who is our first place winner.  Angela Rinaldi is our second place winner and Anna Esposito is our third place winner.  A big Thank YOU to all that participated and voted to make this another successful event.
Click this link to see all the participants and to download your Fall IADR Art Doll Magazine.  This is free for IADR Members only - though the magazine is easy to purchase in English or Italian for anyone that wishes to download a digital copy.
As we finish one issue of the IADR Art Doll magazine, we begin another.  We will be starting the Special Edition of the IADR magazine to let people know about (and be planning for) the IADR Art Doll Convention in Florence, Italy for 2026.
Anyone can submit articles or tutorials for it, but we would especially like those that are planning a workshop for the 2026 Convention to please let me know so that we can start that information for scheduling.  You can contact me at iadregistry@outlook.com.
Welcome to our new Member - Linda Rous.  She lives in Oklahoma and works with wood as her doll making medium. Her characters are from Native American folklore and history.  She does amazing work and we will be looking forward to her sharing her "My People" with us.

If you are one of the members participating in the People's Choice Event you should already have the voting link sent to you. If not, contact IADRegistry@outlook.com.
As a member of IADR, let's be artists that help support other artists by also sharing the link in posts on your Facebook and even on Instagram.
The link to caste your vote is at:
We have shortened the name for the page link especially for Instagram.  When you are adding the link to your shared story on Instagram, you just need to type in "www.international-art-doll-registry.com/pc2025".  You don't have to add the http at the beginning.  Again, any time you can add a direct link to your post you increase the chance the reader will go and vote.  The People's Choice Event runs from September 8th ending September 22nd.  Winners will be announced in the October IADR Art Doll Magazine.  If you need help to know how to load a link to Instagram, refer back to last week's blog where the process was explained.

Have you entered the People's Choice Event?  The Deadline is Sept 5th.  Read what we have to say about this event but especially pay attention to the Instagram option.  Instagram is a new way to generate votes, especially if Instagram is your favorite media to post on.Though, you can post the link on any social media platform that you think your followers would come and support you on by casting their vote.
So let's see what happens in the People's Choice Event.
First, what do you win?  This event offers a marketing prize instead of a cash prize.  The first place winner will be on the banner for the Sale Event that begins October 23th (More coming out on that later).
PLUS the first place winner will be on the Cover of the IADR Art Doll magazine coming out in October 2025.
Second and Third place winners will be placed on our Facebook banners and also mentioned in the October edition of the IADR Art Doll magazine.  Don't forget that the increase in visitors to the website can also create offers of a possible sale or commission from the foot traffic from the public as well.
Here is a what the Peoples' Choice Event is about!
What to Submit?  Since the judging is being done by "the people" the theme is not required to be included in this event though your art is to have been created sometime between October 2024 to September 2025 to be acceptable.
How to Submit?  There is a Peoples' Choice Event Submission form that is available once you sign into the IADR website.  This competition is open to IADR members only so you will find the submission form in the members section.  This is a simplified form as only one picture is required and no explanation of your submission is required.  Because your submission will also be linked to your Artist's Studio page, you may want to have that updated with any images of your work and links to your social platforms for viewing by the public - if you wish to take advantage of the traffic to our website.
Last year the traffic to our website was over 1,650 visits in 8 days!  Visitors that went directly to our People's Choice voting page were over 1,050 visits.  The people actually voting reached over 800 votes.  Amazing and great job everyone!  But another cool statistic is everyone who participated in this event with their character and Artist's Page has had their individual page looked at 250% times more than before the event started.  It averages out that each Artist's Studio page for those who entered had at least 35 visits.  And remember, to be eligible for the Year End competition requires participating in one of the juried shows during the year.  This show meets that requirement!
How Does This Event Work?  The submission deadline is September 5th, 2025.  The Event will go live for public voting on September 8th and ends on September 22nd, 2025.  All IADR members will receive the link to the voting page on our website prior to Sept 8th.  At that point, it will be up to you on how you want to share that link.  The link is how people will find the page so they can vote.  So yes, to get the word out I'll be posting this on my personal page, my group page, and my business page inviting my friends, relatives, and those that follow me to come vote.  Will you be doing the same???
Instagram - But let's not forget Instagram.  For those not familiar with how to do this, let me share the steps with you.
1. Post your post to your account inviting your friends and family to participate.
2. Go to your post and share it to Your Story.  When you are in the creation part of your story, click on the little square box with the face on it that is next to the options across the top.
3. Then a list of options pop up that you can add to your image.  Look for the link icon... it should say LINK.  Click on it.
4. I am not savy enough to figure out how to save it so I don't have to type it in, so you will need to type in the link address for the voting (when it is sent out prior to September 8th).  Then POST.
You will then see in YOUR STORY on your profile with the post with the link for those that want to support you with a vote.

Who can participate?  All IADR members who wish to participate (including judges as well as past winners and masters) are invited.  This is your time to play!

The lazy dazzy days of summer are quickly disappearing.  How do I know that?  Because 'To Do' lists are starting to pop up.  Do you make them?
They are an important tool that helps us keep organized and not forget important things to do.
Like vote in the 2026 Juried Show Theme Poll.  This is your chance to help shape the upcoming juried shows for 2025.  There are two areas to vote for:  One for the 2026 May Art Doll Convention show AND then for the 2026 August online Juried Show.
Click the link to let us know what you would like to see for themes - https://www.international-art-doll-registry.com/polling.html.  Deadline for voting is September 5th.
People's Choice Event - Deadline for entering this event is September 5th.  If you are thinking ahead to the Year End Competition, keep in mind that one of the requirements for Year End is that you have had to participated in at least one juried show this year.  So if you weren't in the Winter Blues event, or didn't compete at the IADR Art Doll Convention in May - The People's Choice Event is the last event to enter so that you can qualify for the Year End Competition.

Also, it is a fun way to participate since you are having friends and family vote for your work as well as the public.  You can't sell dolls without being seen, as this is our best event for our Artist's Studio pages to be seen.  The reach is always tremendous.  Keep in mind that if you want any updating to your Artist's Studio pages, let me know so we can make those changes.  You can email me at iadregistry@outlook.com.
Congratulations to Nade Jankovska for her Shout Out in August/September 2025 DOLLS magazine.  Great job!

2024 People's Choice Winner

We're being busy little bees here at the IADR and we need  you!  The People's Choice Submission is now open for you to submit a favorite creation made within the past year.  Remember, this is for IADR members only.  Also, I am looking into how to expand People's Choice voting for the Instagram accounts but since the voting hasn't started yet, more will come out on that next week.  Now it is just the time to submit and be a part of this year's People's Choice competition.
2026 Juried Show Themes Polling
We would also like to hear from you regarding the themes for 2026.  We created a poll that you can access by clicking the link.  You are voting for the theme for the IADR Art Doll Convention in May as well as for the online juried show for August.  The themes with the most votes will be picked as the winners.  It will only take a moment and a great way to share your ideas as well as be involved in what the IADR does.

We are currently working on the next issue of the IADR Art Doll magazine.  Do you know we are just one of the few doll magazines still out there? Magazines are a great way to advertise and be seen... and lasts longer than any other social media platform.  Plus it is free to IADR members!  If you are wanting to submit something to the magazine...(HINT - especially a Do What You Love page submission) please send it in now or contact me by emailing at iadregistry@outlook.com.

Where is the party?  Where has the summer even gone?  As quickly as this year is flying by, there are still things to mark your calendar for.

People's Choice will start taking submissions beginning August 18th.  The Deadline for submissions is September 5th.
People's Choice Event will begin the voting starting September 8th and run through until September 22nd.  Keep in mind the Winner of the People's Choice will be featured on the cover of our next IADR Art Doll magazine.
At this time the IADR Art Doll magazine is planned to be released October 6th.  This year we are also having the IADR Doll Sale in October to make it easier to order and maybe have by Christmas for those wishing to purchase something special and unique.
Also we are already thinking of next year events and a poll will soon be out to see what type of themes you would like to have for the IADR Art Doll Convention in May as well as themes for the August juried show.  The Winter Blues juried show is pretty much "winter, blues, or anything in between" for that event *smiling*.
There are many things happening at the IADR, don't hide behind a mask.  Get involved with thinking about what you might want to submit in the People's Choice competition.  Do you want to put a 'Do What You Love' submission in the IADR Art Doll magazine?  Deadline for magazine submissions is September 19th.  If you like a theme to be added to the POLL, please send it to me soon at iadregistry@outlook.com as I hope to have the poll ready for next week's blog.
The Shylock Doll Gathering is meeting TODAY (Tues, Aug 12th) at 12:30 pm.  The next IADR Art Doll Convention Planning Committee is meeting September 10th.
