Unlocking the benefits...

Do you wonder where your International Art Doll Registry (IADR) member dues go?  Let me walk you through what your paid membership unlocks.
First and foremost, the dues go towards paying the cash awards from the juried shows.  Evaluating (when I began operating the shows), how they were at that time only on-line. It was extremely costly to have a physical award and ship it with the postage costs.  Especially if shipping the award over seas, trying to guarantee it's safe arrival, and passing customs without additional costs to the winner.  And now with shipping costs going up even more, paying a cash reward is still a more practical choice.
Following that up with our IADR Art Doll Convention -- a part of the membership dues does help pay for the physical awards presented there as well.
This way we have the fun of having a physical award if one plans to attend the conventions, but it makes it just as fun to receive cash from our on-line event to be able to spend it back on our dolls - right? *smiling*.
Next, part of the membership dues goes for licenses and software for maintaining and operating the website.  Which hopefully this site makes it much easier to see an artist's work and easier to navigate.  One perk of this software that it is user friendly, enough that even I can manage it.  It is one reason why we can make additions to it with your Artist's Studio page and Registration information.  Overall, I feel this is a good investment.  Though I am still trying to get the submit button to work better but that technology is a work in progress.  If you like to see any changes in the website please don't hesitate to let me know - we are always working to improve it!
Your membership fee also goes for computer apps like Youtube, Canva, Zoom, and the Internet which covers us on Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky. These apps allow us to create the magazine.  It is because your membership fee going towards these costs that the magazine stays free to IADR members.
No one receives a wage for what we do at IADR.  It is one reason why we appreciate Adelaide Santini's offer that helps us with the magazine's Italian translation.  Also, when members offer to help by submitting articles, tutorials, interviews, and even showcasing their dolls, that makes the IADR community stronger.

What is down the road?  The Art Doll Convention helps growth, physical awareness, and the opportunity to build a stronger doll artist community.  The on-line shows offer free advertising for our creations as well as helpful learning input.  The IADR Magazine and Artist's Studio pages offer free advertising to you, our IADR members.  My goal is to reach out even more on Youtube and Bluesky.  Bluesky is helping us reach more of the AI free connections.  Youtube is a more stable market for growth and reach - especially if we can work out a way to show more of your work in short videos besides just the juried shows.  That's a future goal!  If you have any questions about any of the things I have mentioned here, please email me at [email protected].
