July 2026 IADR Planning Meeting for 2027 Convention
Next planning meeting September 16th, 2026.
English to the left- Italian to the right.

Main ideas developed are listed below and also a schedule of September 16th meeting
Main Ideas from July 29th meeting
  • Introduction of Jim and Natalie of Elfenwild as Guests Artists for 2027 Convention.
  • Confirmation that Agostino Dessi is willing to help promote our event with a possibility of three sites to showcase dolls in.
  • Talked about graphics.  Convention theme is "Witches, Wizards, and Trolls".  Claudia and I use Canva. Who else has Canva?
  • Changing the name of the IADR Art Doll Convention to IADR ART DOLLS Exposition to make it more inviting for others to attend.
  • Changing the term "workshops" to "courses" to create an opportunity to learn some new skill.
  • Friday (April 30th) would be the opportunity for the "courses" and table set-up time for the vendors.
  • Saturday and Sunday will be Exhibit days with the Art/Apertivio Event Saturday evening.
  • Discussion of the use of Facebook and Instagram for advertising.
  • Talked about creating a "tag" image that can be used in a Facebook profile spot or on the banner to let people know they are going to the exposition. Also mentioned about "brainstorming" in the comments in the What's App Group if anyone has any ideas they would like to share to help make this event more successful.
  • Creating a "Collector's Early Preview" on Saturday morning before opening to the public.
  • Discussion of what type of treat or meal would be at the Early Preview.
What we need to decide on at the September 16th meeting
  • Confirming if Agostino's Daughter will be doing a demo at our event.
  • Confirming who might want to help out with the graphics in creating our image for the final Poster due before January 2027.
  • Commitments of who plans to attend, (even if you don't pay until the 1st payment deadline) so I know who I can promote in early advertising in the social medias.
  • Commitments of the course you would want to offer on Friday, April 30th
  • Setting up some videos to use on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Confirming who is "inviting" the collectors.  Is this an email or written note?
  • Concerning Collector's Early Preview - confirm the time this is open.  I will pay for and have made arrangements with the hotel for coffee, tea & juice.  Need to confirm that the vendors will bring in their own pastries for this event.  The hotel said they would not stop us from doing this for this preview.
  • A list below is the Facebook Groups I know I can post in about the convention.  Are you also in some of them?  Also are there other Facebook groups to be aware of to be able to post in.
