Nina Simone

I was confident I could knit Nina Simone,but her piano? A challenge! I made her piano and bench with plastic canvas,and yarn. Her microphone made with yarn,toothpick and black paint. Each stitch carried a quiet rhythm. By the time I completed Nina at her piano, she felt less like a doll and more like a knitted tribute to a woman who reshaped culture with her voice and her courage.
