Time flies when one is having fun and we are certainly going to be having fun at the IADR (International Art Doll Registry) this month and the months ahead.
Let me share some dates that you don't want to miss marking your calendar for:
Shylock Doll Gathering August 8th - Tuesday at 1:30 pm MST join us as we reach from Alaska to Spain to Australia with this fun group of ladies discussing dollmaking and just enjoying hanging out with other doll makers. It's a Zoom meeting so let me know if you would like to be added to the notification.
Fairy Wedding Juried Show Event deadline is August 31st, 2023. Yep... Only a few more weeks left to see who will be attending the wedding and their interesting guests. I can't wait to see these cool entries.
The People's Choice Awards - This is our fun Christmas (sort of) themed event. After all, anything that is magical to you that you might have received for Christmas, inspires Christmas, or just plain makes you feel good is open to this show. The deadline for entering this event (which will be for IADR members only) is Oct 1st, 2023. This is also where the people (general public) will be choosing the winners... so judges - this is your time to play as well by entering your works. Keep in mind that the winners will be on our advertising poster themes for our sale event coming up.
The IADR Sales Event (which will be a first for us) will be Nov 3rd - Nov 5th, 2023. This is again for IADR members only as we will be doing our push for those Christmas sales. Did you know that this week alone we had over 1000 viewers to the website? So yes, get those Artist's Studio pages updated *smiling*. Let me know if you need help or have any questions about setting up your Artist's Studio page.
And in the meantime we are also working on the next issue of the IADR Art Doll Magazine. The deadline for submitting to the IADR for articles and dates/events that you would liked published in the Fall issue will be Sept 1st, 2023. Submissions can be sent to IADRegistry@outlook.com.
This is just some of the things here at IADR that we are doing to help promote dollmaking and supporting each other in our love and passion of our art.

It is hard to be patient while wanting to learn everything there is to know about doll making. Especially since it requires so many various skills to learn or use during the journey of bringing a character to life. Which makes tutorials a great opportunity.
Tutorials are a wonderful way to learn something new or maybe something one hadn't even thought of to try, especially if one can't travel for many reasons.
One of the lovely perks of being a member of the IADR (International Art Doll Registry) is that several members over time have given of their talents by sharing their knowledge and experience by creating tutorials for the IADR. This little faery shares the secret of her Wings created by Deb Wood using Silk.
Another tutorial just added in the Tutorial section is also how to make this Realistic Looking Egg provided to us from the talents of Janis Higgins.
Plus don't miss out on this Fantasy Mushroom complete tutorial by Amanda Day. Isn't the face fantastic?
These are just a few of the tutorials that have been added to the Members Only Tutorial section of the IADR website. They are free to the members and offer a great resource to visit time and time again. Especially as I hope to keep adding to this section of our website with the generosity of our terrific members. So drop on over to the
www.https://www.international-art-doll-registry.com/
and login in as a member to dive into the the world of the Tutorials without even leaving the comfort of your own chair.

As a Non-Member there will be an entry fee to be paid before submitting in your doll for judging.
Don't forget there is a new Category added for the Master Level. Can you believe that there is only one show left to participate in if you are also thinking about entering in for our Year End Show? One of the requirements for the Year End is to have participated in one of this year's IADR shows prior to the Year End competition.
Can't wait as the excitement builds to see who will be at the Fairy Wedding and their Guests.

Come join me as I walk the path that Diana Noch's dollmaking journey took me on. Her creativity and joy in dollmaking was a delight to discover.
Her diamond in the rough tip also reveals how out of the box we doll makers think when we are looking for tools and techniques to make our dolls better.
So pull up that chair and your favorite brew and join us while Diana and I talk about the variety of mediums that can be used for making dolls enjoying our passion for doll making.

It is a blast to see all the changes that have been happening with the International-Art-Doll-Registry as we grow and share our love of dollmaking. The 4th of July here in the USA is our day of celebration as we came into being a nation. Wishing everyone a Happy July 4th and please be safe *smiling*.
But let's not stop there. It has been a birthing process since assuming the roll of CDO of IADR and like all new nations (organizations) hopefully you are excited about some of the changes too.
The major one especially happening now is the new MASTERS category being added to the Juried Shows. This is a great opportunity to have past winners of the Professional level still share their talents and inspiration for upcoming doll members. Plus it is always fun to see how Artists interpret their art from one of our themes. The Fairy Wedding and the Guests who Attend show is really the sky is the limit to your imagination in regards to what one might see at this type of wedding *smiling*. Masters will also be able to still participate in the Year End Show as long as they participate in one of this year's jury shows as well.
Recently we discovered that IADR is one of the few juried shows that offer cash prizes for winning. If you ever wondered if the membership dues were worth it... then win in a jury show category. Your winnings would have paid your IADR membership back to you plus a little extra. The other change is inviting non-member the opportunity to compete as well. As a non-member you are gambling your entry fee against the odds of winning. Everyone has the chance - as well as learning from the judges with their evaluations that are supplied to every entry.
To learn more about the upcoming juried shows click here and for the submission requirements click here. Deadline for a submission to the Fairy Wedding Show is August 31st.
