What new exciting changes ahead?  Let's begin with the change of the DOLLS magazine being transferred to the IADR. We are in the middle of this transition with March 2nd being the official handing over the reigns.  With this major of a change, I felt that the magazine needed a new name reflecting the blend we are hoping to create.
The magazine will now be called ART DOLLS Magazine, coming out March 23rd.  I am hoping to keep the best of both magazines  as we continue to  support our IADR members like we had in the previous IADR Art Doll magazine and now including some of the best features of DOLLS magazine as well.
To begin with, IADR members will continue to receive the magazine FREE as one of their perks as a member.  We will also continue to offer the magazine in Italian too.  But one of the first new changes will be that the digital magazine will now be available in a flip book style to give that feeling of a true magazine look to it.
We will be adding to the magazine the ARTDOLLS Collector's Corner, ARTDOLLS Events, ARTDOLLS Scene as well.  Just some of the new changes we are keeping from the DOLLS magazine honoring the support that they gave collectors and doll artists over the years.
With all these changes to the magazine it will also create some changes in the IADR website too.  My IT (Information Technology) specialist (thank goodness for husbands!) is busy at work... creating his own magic on the site.  More on that to come.
Keep in Mind that the Winter Blue Juried Show Deadline is March 2nd.  Yep, that's right - this weekend is the last opportunity to get your doll entered.
Contact me if you need a registration number and as always - submit your entry just once (1)... even if you don't think it went through.  Then Instant Messenger me or email me at:
for me to confirm that I have received your entry.

That way you don't have to keep resubmitting it when I may have it and you won't have to be guessing as to whether it went through or not. *smiling*
Sadly, this situation is something my IT hubby cannot fix on our end, but know we are still working with the Weebly website developers to see what they can do to resolve this problem.

So-so-so hard to keep secrets... well at least for me!  Let's begin with that Jerry Knegtel collaborated with the IADR to create this short video about her Polymer Puppet challenge.  Thank you Jerry for sharing your talent with us. She turned out fabulous and I love her little dance at the end.

You can now view it on the IADR Youtube Channel at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZa2XpoWffE
Then Bambi and I snuck into the Zoom room and had a cozy chat about this seemingly new Trend of being LIVE on social media.

We talked about Instagram and Youtube and why people are needing to know what they are seeing now on the social platforms is truly real.  This all affects how we try to sell our artwork.

And now I can really let the Cat out of the bag and reveal our really big secret!
     Drum roll please.....ddduuummmm.
The IADR Art Doll magazine is going through a new change and transformation!  Why you ask?  Because the very popular DOLLS magazine has now been acquired by the IADR.  Our new magazine will continue to be a digital format but now we will have a new flip style viewing option.  Also, because of this, we are choosing to update our new name to ART DOLLS Magazine - bringing together the best of each magazine in this new publication.
The Spring Issue will be the first edition and will reflect some of the changes happening - such as adding new sections to the magazine like Doll Collector, Doll Scene, and Doll Clubs to our format as we continuing moving forward.

We will keep the Do What You Love page available to IADR members only to announce their new creations.  Also the AWARD of Excellence competition will continue but will be kept as a separate competition to the magazine and not part of the IADR juried shows.  More information on that event will be available in the Spring Issue.
The new magazine will be still a part of your membership benefits and it will still be a magazine for Creators and Collectors but now with a reach of over 15,000 plus contacts and a following of over 30,000 people being transferred through Facebook.  As I say, the IADR is a great community and that community just got a lot BIGGER!  Maybe it's time that you consider updating your Artist's Studio page as by this time next month there will be a lot more people visiting the IADR website.

Another great opportunity from IADR member Anna Esposito.  Here is what she has to say about it. "Hello fellow crafters! I’m Anna, a felt artist from Italy.  I'm organizing the 4th Needle Felting Meetup – Italy later this month. If carded wool is your passion, come join us! Hope to see you at the event!"

I don't know if the groundhog saw his shadow or not to let us know if it is the end of Winter but it is the end of the Winter Blue Instagram game.
This week's winner of the Sponsor's gift is Azzurra Brogi.  She wins the sponsor gift from Lesley Duthie of a tutorial to make needlefelting shoes for dolls.  Congratulations Azzurra!
Also, would like to thank Anna Esposito, Giusy Di Rocco, and Adelaide Santini for being generous with their time and talent as they shared their Sponsor's gifts in the Winter Blue Instagram Game.
Wow!  Can't believe it but we actually had a tie this year for the overall winner for the best supporter of the Winter Blue Instagram game. A Big Thank You goes out to Annalisa Borroni and Azzurra Brogi as active participants and overall supporters in the Winter Blue game. They will be receiving a shout-out thank you in the next issue of the IADR Art Doll Magazine.
Though we are done with the Winter Blue game, the Winter Blue Juried Show is just beginning.
Submission is now open with the DEADLINE of March 2nd, 2026 to enter.  The Winter Blue juried show is for non-members to win the prize of a year membership with the IADR.  IADR members also can win this opportunity for a free year membership.  So why not give it a go!!  The Theme Winter Blue means:  Anything in blue.  Dressed in blue or an event or activity that chashes away the Winter Blues and lets in a little ray of shine.  If you have any questions regarding acceptability of submission, drop me an email at iadregistry@outlook.com and I will be happy to answer them.
