Kitty: Sock Hop Sweetie
Kitty: The Sock Hop Sweetie is Doll #1 in the 20th Century Fashion Series, and the first doll of 2025. Kitty represents the 1950s decade of fashion and style. A teenage girl starting at a new school, Kitty wondered if she would make friends. Due to her name, Kitty caught the attention of the girl gang of misfits, known as the Pink Kitties. They adopted her into their group, immediately, and gave her a cotton sateen jacket, printed with atomic-style cats and stars, in mint green and rose pink. These are the same nifty colors of the soda fountain, so the group always gets attention. Kitty's ice cream sundae is topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Kitty and her friend Marty got ready together, for the big dance. It will be fun, swinging to rockabilly music. Kitty usually sports a ponytail, but Marty convinced Kitty to try a more grown up hairstyle, with a black scarf and front rolls. She also loaned her Strawberry Wine lipstick. Does she look ok? Kitty's mother sewed a kitty-covered cotton circle skirt and star-studded black rayon blouse. I mean, anyone but a Pink Kitty can wear a poodle. No detail is left undone--can you see her matching milkshake earrings?
Kitty is constructed of wire and soft fills, and covered in a skin of cream cotton. Her face, nails, and hair are embroidered by hand. Kitty's hair is 100% Merino Wool, in creamy white, rosy pink, and dark gray. Her wide eyes are bright blue, rimmed in thick lashes. Kitty stands 36" H, 16"D, and 21"W.
