Freyja
Freyja is the Norse Goddess of many things, particularly love and war. She is more than Odin's wife, a true Queen in her own right. An example of her power, is her cat-drawn chariot. Anyone who can command a cat, and get them to work together as a team, has true leadership ability! Freyja is also a shapeshifter, and is able to change into the form of a falcon. In working with her, it became clear that I had underestimated Freyja. She is more commanding than Juno, and sexier than Aphrodite. Half of warriors killed in battle, go to live in her palace. Additionally , she is a fertility goddess, managing the seasons, and loves the color green. Her flashing necklace, fashioned by dwarves, and called Brisingamen,is as famous as she is. A word of caution: She is used to being the boss, and wants lots of attention.
My Freyja is internally fashioned of wire and softer fills. Her measurements are approximately 35"H x 22"W x 18"D. Her embroidered hair is Merino wool, and is braided. Her face is also embroidered. Freyja's dress is cotton, and printed with a plant design in green and brown. Her flared coat is printed in a falcon-feather design, and also has "feathers" stitched to the lining. Both garments are trimmed in brown velvet, and she sports velvet mittens over her hands. Freyja's hair is trimmed with moss green vintage silk ribbon. Her huge amber necklace is framed in copper, and was created by another artist(Etsy seller: Jewelry by Anaika). A brass tag identifies Freyja as the 11th doll in Goddesses 2024 Series, and she comes with a certificate of authenticity. Artists' autograph appears on her neck.
