Rhiannon
Rhiannon, the tenth doll in my Goddesses 2024 Series, is a powerful deity in Welsh folklore. She exhibits the characteristics of leadership and independence, grace and dignity. Rhiannon is associated with fertility and harvest, white horses, the moon, and birds. She is a very independent gal, rejecting a previous suitor to marry Prince Pwyll.
Rhiannon stands approximately 35"H x 18"W x 18"D, and is constructed internally of wire and softer fills. She stands without assistance. Her skin is cotton, and facial features are embroidered. Her 100% Merino wool hair, glowing in autumn shades, is also embroidered on the cotton. Rhiannon's outfit is designed just for her, from an original pattern. The cotton skirt is printed with white horses, and is complemented by a tea-dyed linen blouse, featuring bell sleeves. Rhiannon is known for wearing a gold cloak. The one I created for her is bedecked with falling leaves, and has armholes at the side. Although I attached a hood, I just couldn't justify shadowing her lovely windswept hair and flashing eyes. She is autographed at the neck, and a brass identifier tag is attached to the skirt in front.
