Zorya Vechernyaya
Doll is internally constructed primarily of steel and aluminum wire, and softer fills. She measures approximately 35"H x 16"D x 20"W. She stands on her own.
Zorya Vechernyaya is one of three sister goddesses, known to Russia and Eastern Europe. Her role is to close the celestial gates, upon the return of the Sun, each evening. Along with her sisters, Vechernyaya also helps to guard the universe. I describe my Vechernyaya as the sunset wearing clothes of evening. Her colorful, vibrant hair is 100% Merino Wool, embroidered on cotton skin. Her facial features are also embroidered, and I have chosen to give her a somewhat sleepy look. Her linen skirt and cape are fashioned of 100% European linen, in a deep blue. The elaborate trim gives the suit a modern interpretation of the outfit traditionally worn by women of the area, the sarafan. The sarafan is usually worn with a white, linen blouse. Vechernyaya's linen blouse features flared, embroidered cuffs. Around her neck, is the most important key, tied with vintage silk ribbon in teal. The same vintage silk trims her hat and skirt.
Zorya Vechernyaya is ninth in the Goddess 2024 Series, and comes with a brass tag, artist autograph on wrist, and certificate of authenticity. For more information click the link https://www.kathrynleigharts.com
