Hsi Wang Mu
Hsi Wang Mu is known as the Spirit Mother of the West, in Chinese tradition. She is embodiment of the Divine Feminine, and her color is white. I have chosen her to be the fourth doll in the Goddesses 2024 Series, and she is identified as such by a brass tag on her skirt. She is also autographed by the artist.
Hsi Wang Mu stands on her own, due to internal construction of primarily aluminum wire and softer fills. Her measurements are approximately 35"H x 20"D x 20"W, with outstretched arms. Hsi Wang Mu is a powerful figure, and is associated with many animals, such as the five colored dragon. I have made her a dress with the five colored dragon print, in a modern cheongsam style. Her dress is trimmed with red vintage silk ribbon. Her hair is embroidered 100% Merino Wool, exclusive of the small amount of lurex sparkle added to one side of her head. She is timeless, so even though her dress is modern, Hsi Wang Mu sports a traditional imperial hairstyle, held in place with chopsticks. Hsi Wang Mu is best known for her enchanted orchard, where the peaches of immortality ripen every 3000 years.
Hsi Wang Mu is internally constructed of primarily aluminum wire and softer fills, allowing her to stand upright and remain soft. Her hair is wool with lurex accents, and face is embroidered on cotton skin. Her outfit is cotton with silk trim.
