Zorya Utrennaya
Zorya Utrennaya is one of three Russian sister goddesses charged with caring for the Sun. Her responsibility is opening the celestial gates at dawn. I have chosen this bright feminine character as the third doll in the Goddesses 2024 series.
Zorya Utrennaya stands on her own, measuring approximately 35"H x 20"W x20"D, with arms outstretched. She has a sun embroidered on her forehead, blue eyes, strawberry blonde updo, and bronze colored eyelashes. I have depicted her as a career woman, wearing a dawn sky printed cotton suit and a sunny blouse featuring nine pleats in a sunray pattern, created from my design. Both are trimmed with vintage silk ribbon in gold. In her hand is a brass Sun key, which will be used as she opens the gates. On her front waistband is a brass tag identifying her. Artist has autographed the doll as well
Internal construction is primarily aluminum wire and softer fills. Exterior skin and face are cotton. Hair is 50% silk, 50% Merino wool. Both face and hair are embroidered. Attire is cotton, trimmed with buttons and vintage silk ribbon.
