Sewing Room Memories
Sewing Room Memories - My mom was a well-known artist, and her paintings are hanging in some of the most famous art galleries. But what most people do not know, is that, before she became an artist, she was a seamstress. I am lucky enough, to still own some of the handmade Belgian laces and bobbins of satin ribbons, that she used in her sewing room. I decided to create “mom’s sewing box", and filled it with some of her old sewing room laces and ribbon. She was a magical woman, who told me the most beautiful stories about fairies and the fae-folk. This is why a dainty ballerina fairy is spinning around in a beautiful big rose (mom’s favorite flower), by the mesmerizing melody of Lord Of The Rings, coming from a build in, wind up music box. The ballerina is completely sculpted from Cosclay, and the music box is handmade by me, and decorated with a decoupage technique in “shabby chic” style.
