Convention Location:
When and Where is the convention to be held?On May 15-17, 2025, the International Art Doll Registry (IADR) is having their “Shine the Light’ convention at the Hotel Albani Firenze in Florence, Italy.
Convention Schedule:
Has the convention schedule been finalized with no further changes? The convention hourly schedule will not be finalized until May 1st, 2025. The dates of the convention for May 15-17, 2025 are set and will not be changed. Please check the Convention Schedule button below for the most current convention schedule.
Convention Registration & Options:
Can I pay for my registration to the convention and workshops on-line? Yes, click the Convention Registration Options & Fees button below to make your selections. The convention registration and most workshops can be paid at one on-line site. Some workshops will require you to contact the instructor to make payment arrangements. How can I be entered to win the guest speaker gift of "The Catch of the Day"? The guest speaker, Mark Dennis, will present this one-of-a-kind doll to one randomly selected lucky individual at the Guest Speaker & Awards Banquet on Friday evening (May 16, 2025). To be considered, the individual must be a registered guest for the convention. Those registering prior to January 1, 2025 will receive three entries for the give-away. Those registering between January 1, 2025 and February 28, 2025 will receive two and those registering starting March 1, 2025 will receive one entry. Can I purchase additional tickets for the Guest Speaker/Banquet Dinner on Friday, May 16th? Yes, the IADR Banquet to be held on Friday evening (May 16th) will be a buffet dinner (drinks included) at the Ristorante Bernini located in the convention site hotel. Additional banquet tickets for family members, guests, or those wishing to attend the dinner may be purchased at a price of 75 euros at - please click here.
Juried Show Entry:
Do I have to fill out a form to compete for the IADR Convention Juried Show? Yes, there is a form to complete. It can either be completed on-line prior to the convention or at the convention registration table on May 15, 2025, during the hours of 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Do I and the doll have to be present at the convention to enter the juried show? Individuals must either be present or have another person responsible for submitting the doll for competition and retrieving the doll prior to the completion of the convention. The doll must be present to be considered for the competition. The IADR is not responsible for submissions not picked-up by the end of the convention.
Will cash prizes be awarded for the Convention Juried Show?Instead of the normal cash prize option for other IADR Juried Shows, the 2025 Convention Juried Show will present special awards for each category and skill level winners.
How will my doll submission be judged compared to other submissions? There will be judging based on two categories. Sculptured works of all kinds are welcome in clay, paper-clay figurative sculpture, porcelain, polymer, or other like mediums. Fiber Arts is a separate category from the other mediums entries and will include all competition entries of wool/needlefelting and cloth dolls. Each category will have five separate skill levels. Those being Novice, Intermediate, Advance, Professional, and Master. There will be an award opportunity for each level when meeting the competition requirement. Sales Tables:
What size are the sales tables? Sales tables will be a standard width and either 6 foot or 8 foot in length (table size will be based on number of sales tables needed to fit the convention sales room).
How many days will there be open sales at the convention? The 2025 IADR Convention in Florence, Italy will include two days of open-to-the-public sales tables. This will be on May 16 - 17, 2025. Please click the Request a Convention Sales Table button below for further information.
Can I just have a sales table and not register for the convention? Yes, but registered guests to the convention receive the option of operating one sales table during the convention and all of the other benefits of being a registered guest to include a ticket to the Friday evening banquet and awards dinner. The sales table only registration fee is 275 Euro. IADR reserves the right to refuse any sales table applications for items not related to the convention or One-Of-A-Kind dolls or doll related items. Do I have to complete the sales table application on the convention website if I have paid the convention registration fee? Yes, IADR will need to confirm your table and what you intend to sale to make sure it meets the convention requirements (either One-Of-A-Kind dolls or doll related items). If I purchase a sales table (either separately or by registering for the convention) - can I include other artist's work on my table? Yes, you can include other artist's work on your sales table. We understand that to fill a 6 or 8 foot table requires a number of dolls and/or products and we encourage you to have several different priced items available to the public, but remember, IADR reserves the right to refuse any sales table applications for items not related to the convention or One-Of-A-Kind dolls or doll related items. Workshops:
Does my convention registration fee include workshops? Workshops are a separate fee from the convention registration fee. There are a few workshops being offered for free to convention registered guests. To see the most current list of workshops and their fee options, click the Available Convention Workshop button below.
Can I offer a workshop but not register for the convention? Yes, but a fee is required based on the type of workshop you are offering. Based on the total number of workshops to be offered and the spacing available, workshops will be available for both Friday and Saturday (May 16-17, 2025) of the convention.The IADR retains the right to limit workshops and to approve the content of the workshop.
