The IADR Workshop Provider form for the 2026 Convention is now up on the website. If you are thinking about offering a workshop but not sure yet of what you want to focus on, please still fill out the form. We are trying to gather information as to who wants to provide a workshop and also get this information ready for our Special Convention Edition magazine. Remember, there will only be one day of Convention Workshops on Friday, May 8th, and those that sign up early will have the most flexibility to choose their time slots.

This is free for IADR Members only - though the magazine is easy to purchase in English or Italian for anyone that wishes to download a digital copy. As we finish one issue of the IADR Art Doll magazine, we begin another. We will be starting the Special Edition of the IADR magazine to let people know about (and be planning for) the IADR Art Doll Convention in Florence, Italy for 2026. Anyone can submit articles or tutorials for it, but we would especially like those that are planning a workshop for the 2026 Convention to please let me know so that we can start that information for scheduling. Results from our Themes Polling - We have the results from our recent poll asking for themes for our May IADR Art Doll Convention 2026 and also for our August 2026 online juried show. The winners are: For the May 8-10, 2026 Convention theme - Myths and Legends. (More information will be coming out about that especially as we develop our graphics for the convention.) For the August 2026 Online Juried show theme - Marine Creatures.
Also, the 2026 IADR Art Doll Convention is going to be held a week after the 90th Anniversary of the MIDA event in Florence, Italy. This is going to be a BIG opportunity to IADR members that wish to help out at the booth we will have at MIDA. MIDA will be a wonderful opportunity to promote our own Art Dolls at the IADR exhibit as well as showcasing various other IADR member doll artists throughout the week. We have shortened the name for the page link especially for Instagram. When you are adding the link to your shared story on Instagram, you just need to type in "www.international-art-doll-registry.com/pc2025". You don't have to add the http at the beginning. Again, any time you can add a direct link to your post you increase the chance the reader will go and vote. The People's Choice Event runs from September 8th ending September 22nd. Winners will be announced in the October IADR Art Doll Magazine. If you need help to know how to load a link to Instagram, refer back to last week's blog where the process was explained.

Shylocks Doll Gathering will be held at 12:30 MST on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025. The IADR Art Doll Convention Planning Group meeting is on Wednesday, September 10th at 9:00 am MST / 5:00 pm Italian time. Send an email to [email protected] if you would like an invitation.
PLUS the first place winner will be on the Cover of the IADR Art Doll magazine coming out in October 2025. Second and Third place winners will be placed on our Facebook banners and also mentioned in the October edition of the IADR Art Doll magazine. Don't forget that the increase in visitors to the website can also create offers of a possible sale or commission from the foot traffic from the public as well. Here is a what the Peoples' Choice Event is about! What to Submit? Since the judging is being done by "the people" the theme is not required to be included in this event though your art is to have been created sometime between October 2024 to September 2025 to be acceptable. How to Submit? There is a Peoples' Choice Event Submission form that is available once you sign into the IADR website. This competition is open to IADR members only so you will find the submission form in the members section. This is a simplified form as only one picture is required and no explanation of your submission is required. Because your submission will also be linked to your Artist's Studio page, you may want to have that updated with any images of your work and links to your social platforms for viewing by the public - if you wish to take advantage of the traffic to our website. Last year the traffic to our website was over 1,650 visits in 8 days! Visitors that went directly to our People's Choice voting page were over 1,050 visits. The people actually voting reached over 800 votes. Amazing and great job everyone! But another cool statistic is everyone who participated in this event with their character and Artist's Page has had their individual page looked at 250% times more than before the event started. It averages out that each Artist's Studio page for those who entered had at least 35 visits. And remember, to be eligible for the Year End competition requires participating in one of the juried shows during the year. This show meets that requirement! How Does This Event Work? The submission deadline is September 5th, 2025. The Event will go live for public voting on September 8th and ends on September 22nd, 2025. All IADR members will receive the link to the voting page on our website prior to Sept 8th. At that point, it will be up to you on how you want to share that link. The link is how people will find the page so they can vote. So yes, to get the word out I'll be posting this on my personal page, my group page, and my business page inviting my friends, relatives, and those that follow me to come vote. Will you be doing the same???
Who can participate? All IADR members who wish to participate (including judges as well as past winners and masters) are invited. This is your time to play!
