Also, if you are offering a Workshop for the 2025 IADR Convention, please let me know if you haven't yet completed the application form.  If you want an opportunity to let people know about your workshop then please use the Workshop form on the website as soon as possible.  The description of your workshop will be used for the October Special Edition IADR magazine as mentioned above.  Don't forget to add pictures as those are what captures the interest first.  Deadline for submission to the magazine will be Sept 27th, 2024, Friday.  Its FREE advertising!!!  The Special Edition will be a FREE issue to everyone in order for it to be shared to get the word out even better.  If you would like to present a workshop at the Convention but don't know what you can offer, drop me an email at [email protected].  I am willing to help brainstorm for an idea with you.

This is your chance to get exposure to your Artist's Studio page, possible chance at being on the magazine cover, and be on the Sales page for the November Doll Sale.  Everyone that enters the Peoples' Choice Event will automatically be on the November Sales page also!

So don't pull out your hair!  Just head on over to the IADR website and click on the Peoples' Choice Event In the Members Only section to enter.  Then on September 30th, 2024 we will release the link for the voting.  Voting will take place starting September 30th through October 11th.  Get everyone you know to visit the site and vote for the doll!  The entry with the most votes wins!  To read more about the 2024 Peoples' Choice Event - click here. 

Here is a what the Peoples' Choice Event is about: 

​​What to Submit?:  There is a theme for those that want to create something new for this event which is "Let's Razzle Dazzle".  For those that want to participate but not be limited to the theme, then your art needs to be created sometime between October 2023 to October 2024 to be acceptable.  Since the judging is being done by "the people" the theme is not required to be included in this event.

How to Submit?:  There is a Peoples' Choice Event Submission form that is available once you sign into the IADR website as this competition is open to IADR members only you will find the submission form.  This is a simplified form as only one picture is required and no explanation of your submission is required.  Because your submission will also be linked to your Artist's Studio page, you may want to have that updated with any images of your work and links to your social platforms for viewing by the public-- if you wish to take advantage of the traffic to our website. 

Last year the traffic to our website was over 1,650 visits in 8 days!

Visitors that went directly to our People's Choice voting page were over 1,050 visits.  The people actually voting reached over 800 votes.  Amazing and great job everyone!

But another cool statistic is everyone who participated in this event with their character and Artist's Page has had their individual page looked at 250% times more than before the event started.  It averages out that each Artist's Studio page for those who entered had at least 35 visits.

How does this Event work?:  The submission deadline is September 27th, 2024. The Event will go live September 30th ending on October 11th, 2024.   All IADR members will receive the link to the voting page on our website September 30, 2024.  At that point, it will be up to you on how you want to share that link.  That link is how people will find the page so they can vote.  So yes, to get the word out I'll be posting this on my personal page, my group page, and my business page inviting my friends, relatives, and those that follow me to come vote.  Will you be doing the same???

What do you win?:  This event offers a marketing prize instead of a cash prize.  The first place winner will be on the banner for the Sale Event that is in November.  PLUS - Be on the Cover and be featured in the Special Edition of the IADR Art Doll magazine that will be coming out in October for the 2025 IADR Convention.  Second and Third place winners will be placed on our Facebook banners and also mentioned in the Art Doll magazine.  Don't forget that the increase in traffic to the website can create offers of a possible sale or commission from the foot traffic from the public as well.

Who can participate?:  All IADR members that are current with dues and wish to participate including judges as well as past winners and masters are invited.  This is your time to play!  This is limited to only IADR members because of the link to the Artist's Page and our website.

This is also the last chance!  This is the last juried event that is available to participate in if one wants to be considered for the Big Cash awards that are in the Year End Event.  The Year End Event requires at least participation in one of the three prior events this year which this is one of those three.  So if you haven't participated yet but want to be thinking about the Year End... then jump on board here with this event and submit your entry.

The Do What You Love Juried Show is now available to enter online on our website.  Please try to register your dolls early as to not miss out on getting into the show.  The Deadline is Monday, September 16th, 2024. Remember when entering the juried show that you are choosing the right skill level category.  If you have won an award at one level with IADR, you automatically move up to the next level.  Also make sure you receive acknowledgment from me that I have received your entry.  If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].

The countdown also continues as there are 14 days left to the submission deadline for the 'Do What You Love' juried show.  Remember also when submitting entries, that you have not been confirmed into the show until you receive a conformation email back from me on your entry.
