Born in Cuba, moved to America back in 1962 when I was a young child. I have five wonderful children, many grandchildren and a loving soul mate.
Art has always been my passion and always a big part of my life mostly through oil painting. Life led me elsewhere into the world of finances where I worked for automobile dealerships in the South Florida area and the US Virgin Islands as a Comptroller/CFO for almost 30 years.
In 2010 my almost perfect life (or so I thought at the time) drastically came to an end. My body shut down, lungs collapsed and I went into a coma for a few weeks. I awoke attached to a respirator and in a facility where I would spend the next four months of my life in total silence. It was there, no longer in control, that my priorities changed.
Finding myself disabled, we downsized and moved to Central Florida where my soul would begin to heal. And heal it did! I found a new passion through art dolls. At first, I learned to sew so that I could make cloth dolls but later I discovered something much more fascinating to me, I found polymer clay. I worked diligently and took every online class I could. Along the way, I met some very special people who really inspired me and unselfishly shared their knowledge with me.
Today, I am an Art Doll Artist and I could not possible imagine going back to that other life….
